CHRIS KAMARA has pulled out of his TV presenting duties for this weekend due to his ongoing speech problems.

The popular former Sky man was due to host UK’s Strongest Man.

However, he took to Twitter this morning to confirm he has had to withdraw.

Kammy, 65, wrote: “Due to my ongoing speech problems I have reluctantly pulled out of presenting this year’s UK’s Strongest Man.

“The show will be In Nottingham this weekend. If you fancy? Please go along – it’s spectacular.”

Kamara is battling apraxia of speech, which has made talking difficult, slower and sometimes slurred.

Though sufferers know what they want to say, they can find it tough to process the words and communicate.

The former footballer, who left Sky after 24 years in 2022, said the disorder made him feel like a “fraud”.

And in a recent documentary, Kammy opened up about his struggles and said he had “suffered in silence for too long”.

Fans took to the replies to Monday’s tweet to send their best wishes and support.

One said: “Kammy you are a legend of a man. So much so that I don’t think that I’ve ever come across any one person who is so universally loved and who transcends generations, my dad loves you, I love you and my son loves you.”

Another wrote: “Good luck take care Chris, top bloke and more.”

And a third added: “Oh Kammy, I’m so sorry to hear this. Sending my love. I hope you can feel the collective love and support from everyone x.”

Kamara was awarded an MBE from Prince William in March for his services to football, charity and anti-racism – and even shared a joke with the future King.

The Kensington Royal Twitter account for the Prince and Princess of Wales made reference to Kammy’s iconic red-card blunder moment at Fratton Park in 2010.

The tweet said: “We’re off to Windsor Castle where there’s been an MBE, but for who @chris_kammy?”

Kammy described the day as “unbelievable” in classic fashion.
