BREAKING: GFA President Kurt Okraku withdraws candidacy for CAF Exco. elections

Ghanas Football Association President, Kurt Edwin Simeon Okraku has withdrawn from contesting for a position on the Executive Committee of the Confederation of African Football.Mr. Okraku announced his decision to withdrawal from the election on Thursday at a WAFU Zone B meeting in Morocco.At the meeting, Mr Okraku pledged to support WAFU Zone B President Djibrilla Hami Hamidou who is seeking to be a member of the Executive Council of Africas football governing body.”I wish the remaining candidates the best of luck and pray that CAF comes out stronger than ever after these elections,” the Ghana FA President said to a wild applause of the delegates.”I plan to continue to offer CAF my very best of developmental ideas. I will continue to support the good works and look forward to serving at the highest level in future. Thank you for all your support during this time,” Mr Simeon-Okraku added.The elections will be held tomorrow in Cairo as a new CAF President is sworn into office.South African business mogul Patrice Motsepe will be announced the next CAF President on Friday following the withdrawal of his rivals from the contest.
