Bizarre Mason Greenwood clause revealed with Getafe set to profit from Man Utd loan transfer even if they don’t sign him
A BIZARRE clause in the loan transfer that took Mason Greenwood to Getafe from Manchester United will see the Spanish side profit even if they don’t sign him, reports suggest.
Greenwood, 22, was sent to Getafe on a season-long loan on the final day of the summer transfer window.

The forward has scored four goals in 13 games this season.
Getafe president Angel Corres has said the Spanish side are “considering buying” Greenwood.
However, a stunning revelation reported by The Athletic has revealed that Getafe have inserted a 20 per cent sell-on clause into the deal.
This means that if they buy Greenwood, they will only have to pay 80 per cent of the full fee.
Furthermore, even if Greenwood is NOT signed by Getafe they will still claim 20 per cent of whatever fee is exchanged.
Getafe did not pay any money to bring Greenwood to the club on loan, meaning they are set to profit from the deal no matter the outcome.
The report adds the La Liga outfit do not expect Greenwood to return to Man Utd.
Greenwood was arrested in January 2022 following charges of attempted rape, assault and coercive control.
He denied all the charges and they were later dropped by the CPS.
The club attempted to reintegrate Greenwood but made a U-turn on the stance after fan backlash.
Greenwood last played for Man Utd in their 1-0 win over West Ham on January 22, 2022.
He is under contract at the club until 2025.
Reports in Italy suggest Lazio are interested in signing Greenwood next summer.
