Tottenham vs Crystal Palace betting tips

Nobody is entirely sure what to expect when these sides meet in North London on Saturday afternoon, but there’s a feeling whatever happens will involve goals given both were involved in seven-goal thrillers last weekend.

Tottenham were on the receiving end of a heartbreaking 4-3 defeat to Liverpool at Anfield, while Crystal Palace took maximum points with the same scoreline against West Ham at Selhurst Park.

The defeat left Spurs in sixth position with Champions League qualification now a distant memory. The club are winless in their last four and have a stiff task ahead of them to make the Europa or Conference League with four matches remaining.

But after a tough spell, there are green shoots ahead. Tottenham earned a draw from two goals down against Manchester United, and didn’t fold when 3-0 behind after 15 minutes at Anfield. Ryan Mason is getting some kind of positive reaction, from his attacking players at least.

As for Crystal Palace, they are home and dry after briefly flirting with relegation. Roy Hodgson has four wins in six matches since his arrival and the club could even still manage a top-half finish.

Goals…

It has to be, right? Tottenham have conceded 15 goals in their last four matches and they’ve managed to score 17 in their last eight in the Premier League.

Spurs will fight fire with fire on Saturday, and that could be dangerous against an efficient counter-attacking side like Crystal Palace. The Eagles have zero pressure on their shoulders having all-but secured their top-flight status.

This contest tends to produce goals with 3+ scored in five of the last seven meetings.

Our tip: Over 3.5 goals scored at 7/4 with William Hill

Harry to the rescue…

Harry Kane has had an outstanding season. Only, it’s gone under the radar given a certain Norwegian striker who’s breaking all the records.

The 29-year-old has scored 25 league goals in 34 appearances, including four in his last six matches.

He also boasts his sixth best goalscoring tally against Crystal Palace having scored 10 in 19 matches against them – including two braces in the last four meetings.

Our tip: Harry Kane to score 2+ goals at 24/5 with William Hill

Bookings…

Tyrick Mitchell should have plenty to deal with this weekend.

The 23-year-old has been a stalwart at left-back but will have the attacking Pedro Porro and Dejan Kulusevski flying down Tottenham’s right channel.

Mitchell has played every minute since Hodgson’s arrival, and he’s also conceded more foul than any other Crystal Palace player over the last six fixtures, collecting one yellow card.

Our tip: Tyrick Mitchell to be booked at 4/1 with William Hill
