Brighton vs Manchester City betting tips
Lovers of attacking, technical and free-flowing football will be delighted with this spectacle on the south coast on Wednesday.
But, in all honesty, there’s not a huge amount at stake.
Manchester City have already wrapped up the Premier League title, while Brighton are virtually guaranteed to finish in sixth position.
The Seagulls are three ahead of seventh-placed Aston Villa with 16+ better goal difference, and they trail fifth-placed Liverpool by five.
Brighton will be playing Europa League football next season, but they will have to go through the qualifying stages unless they take maximum points from their next two and Liverpool lose to Southampton on the final day of the campaign.
Chelsea claimed a 1-0 victory over Chelsea on Sunday with Pep Guardiola making nine changes from the side that thrashed Real Madrid to reach the Champions League final.
The Spanish tactician will want to keep his squad fresh ahead of the FA Cup and Champions League finals, but he’ll also be conscious of preserving their winning momentum.
Disjointed…
So Brighton secured European football for the first time in their history, and Manchester City secured their fifth Premier League title in six years. You could forgive the pair for entering this contest slightly unmotivated.
It’s not a complete dead-rubber given Brighton still have a glimmer of hope of catching Liverpool in fifth position — but it’s not far off.
Pep Guardiola will continue to rotate his ranks with the likes of Rico Lewis, Sergio Gomez and Cole Palmer expected to feature. Roberto De Zerbi may also opt to freshen things up.
Things could be disjointed at times, at least for the opening 45 minutes and that’s why we’re backing the second half to see more goals.

Late drama…
Pep Guardiola kept Erling Haaland ticking over when bringing him on for the final 15 minutes against Chelsea on Sunday, and we expect a similar scenario on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old has scored buckets of goals this season with 52 in 50 appearances, including a brace against Brighton in the reverse fixture at the Etihad.
With the Norwegian likely to come off the bench along with his partner in crime, Kevin De Bruyne, we think he could register a late goal.

Phil Foden has been largely overlooked this season with Jack Grealish finally delivering on his lofty price tag.
But the England international was given the full 90 minutes over the weekend, and he clearly wanted to seize his opportunity to make a case to start in the Champions League or FA Cup final.
The 22-year-old made one key pass and had four attempts at goal, which was more than any other Manchester City player on Sunday.
