And following her opening night, Arsenal fan Whitehall could not help but aim a brutal dig towards his North London rivals.

Taking to Twitter, the 34-year-old Bad Education star said: “Beyoncé tour was amazing.

“Also great s***housery her coming out dressed as silverware at the Tottenham stadium. .”

Reacting to the swipe, one fan said: “Oh no you didn’t .”

A second typed: “Legend Jack! .”

However, Spurs fans weren’t willing to take the joke lying down, with one responding: “We won the same amount of silverware as gooners won this season. .”

Spurs and Arsenal had pretty contrasting league campaigns.

Under Mikel Arteta the Gunners led the title race for a staggering 248 days, making them the team with the unwanted record for the most days at the top of the table without winning it.

However, Champions League football was the objective going into the season and finishing second to potential treble-winners Manchester City can still be seen as a year of progress.

On the other hand, despite initial hopes of consolidating last year’s top four finish, Tottenham’s season has ended on an extremelely sour note.

Indeed, an eighth-place league finish has left them without European football for the first time since 2009/10.
