Amber Gill breaks silence on romance with Arsenal star & hits back at trolls who says she’s doing it for fame

LOVE Island star Amber Gill has opened up about her new romance with Arsenal star Jen Beattie and said she is keeping private until it becomes “real life”.

The reality star, 25, who won the 2019 series of Love Island, has also hit out at trolls who accused her of coming out as bisexual to “stay relevant”.

Amber, who recently confirmed she is dating Arsenal star Jen, 31, said she is currently in the dating phase and is waiting for things to get more serious before she goes public with her new love interest.

Speaking exclusively to The Sun about her romance, Amber said: “I’m really happy and that’s all you need to know.

“I’m not ready to tell just yet, you know when you just want to keep things to yourself and then like, it’s real life, then you’ll tell everyone else.”

“Just like normal dating, you’re not going to tell your mum straight away, like that, just taking it slow.”

Amber has slammed people who said she is using her new relationship as a way of staying in the public eye.

“I need people to use their critical thinking skills – I don’t really talk about my relationship that much so if I do it’s not because I want to stay relevant,” she said at the Cirque Du Soleil KURIOS Premiere at the Royal Albert Hall.

“People who want to try and stay relevant, are people who say too much and that’s obviously not me.”

Amber, who looked incredible in a black blazer suit at the star-studded red carpet event, added: “There’s too much speculation now, I used to try to set the record straight on rumours but I’d have no time to.

“I don’t want to keep having to defend myself and who I’m dating.”

It comes after Amber sparked romance rumours with footballer Jen after coming out bisexual on Twitter last year.

Amber – who was linked to England star Jack Grealish last year – had been spotted leaving flirty emojis on the Arsenal player’s Instagram.

The star also confirmed she was in a relationship last month after posting a TikTok clip, writing: “Having to switch up my content so she knows I’m not really toxic.”

The video shows Amber miming to an audio saying: “There is no way in this whole world that I would ever, ever, ever cheat on my girl.”

Fans flooded the comment section congratulating Amber on her new romance, with one writing: “Amber, you have a girlfriend OMG.”

While others speculated that her new beau is Scottish sports star Jen, one fan posted: “The search being Jen Beattie and Amber Gill.”

The pair have been commenting on each other’s pages since July when Amber uploaded a TikTok about how she feels when a guy compliments her versus a girl – which Jen was quick to reply to posting two emojis.

Meanwhile, Amber shared a number of comments on Jen’s social media, including two heart eyes emojis on a photo of her playing football for Arsenal.

Jen recently shared a photo of herself in her new kit and Amber gushed: “OK content queen.”

The Geordie star posted another TikTok saying she was unwell in the house by herself, with Jen being the first to comment back.

Amber replied: “Yes please, I’m not very well and I need a cuddle. I feel that could really improve my form,” to which Jen added: “En route.”

The pair also enjoyed a date night at Winter Wonderland and she posted a video of her in a box at Emirates Stadium, home of Arsenal Football Club.

Amber was in the crowd supporting the Arsenal women’s team as they played Juventus on Wednesday night. 

Jen also posted an Instagram Story of her apparently waving in the direction of the boxes with heart eyes emojis.

Last year, Amber told how she was open to dating women.

She addressed her sexuality saying: “Switching teams was the best decision I made in my life. Watching men makes me feel ill. I couldn’t put myself through it again.”
