The highly anticipated Ashanti Derby ended in a scoreless stalemate at the Len Clay Stadium in Obuasi on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League.AshantiGold SC were lucky not to have conceded as most of the scoring opportunities fell the way of Asante Kotoko who failed to take advantage of any of them.AshantiGold trainer Milovan Cirkovic made four alterations to his squad that were humiliated 5-2 by Legon Cities FC last Friday in Accra.Burkina Faso import Mohammed Bailou was preferred between the sticks to Felix Clottey.Right back Kwadwo Amoako was used as a makeshift midfielder in place of injured Appiah McCarthy who will be out for up to two months.Richard Osei Agyemang Agyemang replaced Michael Enu in central defence as youngster Isaac Opoku Agyemang came in for Hans Kwofie.Johnson Smith on the other hand made three changes to the squad that lost 1-0 to Aduana Stars last weekend at the Accra Sports Stadium.Emmanuel Sarkodie returned from suspension to take the place of injured Habib Mohammed.Abdul Latif Anabila was benched for Mudasiru Salifu whlist Augustine Okrah was the replacement for injured Patrick Asmah.Burkinabe goalie Bailou with a top save to deny Kwame Opoku on a one-on-one situation in the 7th minute.Bailou with another save to prevent the Porcupine Warriors from going up following a free-kick in the 22nd minuteThe Porcupine Warriors kept pushing for the opener as Naby Keita came so close in the 84th minute but his effort missed the goalposts by inches.Asante Kotoko came so close again one minute from full-time when Brazilian forward Fabio Gama dos Santos’s header went wide.AshantiGold remain undefeated at home this campaign with the draw as Asante Kotoko also preserved their unbeaten away record.
