IRAN goalkeeper Ali Beiranvand is set to wear a mask during his time at the World Cup – and it’s not for fashion.
The Iranian shot stopper was forced to come off due to a horrific incident against England.

The Iranian star suffered a bloody nose as he tried to claim a cross in the first half – before remarkably being given the green light from physios to play on.

However, a gazey-eyed Beiranvand hit the deck moments later and was shortly stretchered off for what was revealed later a ‘serious concussion’ and a broken nose.
And the Iranian keeper was then rushed to hospital so nurses could attend to his sickening injury.
What has been said?
Viewers were shocked by Iran’s decision to allow Beiranvand to continue after such a brutal incident.
But manager Carlos Quieroz revealed that they thought the bleeding had stopped which is why he was allowed to carry on playing.
Speaking after the England defeat he said: “According to my medical information and also the referee’s, they were not able to stop the player bleeding. It was something related to (his) broken nose.
“When we were ready to make the substitution, he was able to stop bleeding, so we thought that he could keep going.
“But we had some signs that the possibility of concussion, it happens with the player, it was not clear.
“Unfortunately one minute later, the player was not able to keep going, and he suffered a serious concussion.
