He was linked to big clubs like Bayern Munich and Real Madrid but both moves collapsed.

However De Gea could be set to return to Spain with Betis registering an interest, claim Fichajes.

The report also suggests Valencia were considering an approach for the 32-year-old.

But Betis appear to be the frontrunners after talks with former Manchester City star Claudio Bravo fell through.

De Gea is now believed to be weighing up the contract offer from Betis, having already turned down several teams.

Inter Milan were understood to have been considering De Gea as Andre Onana’s replacement after the keeper joined United.

While Saudi Arabian giants Al-Nassr also made the Spaniard an offer.

Despite being unattached De Gea has continued to train hard and recently shared a video to appeal to potential suitors.

He could be seen working on his footwork, catching and kicking while wearing a Kevin Durant basketball jersey.

Alongside the clip, he added the caption: “Work hard. Push yourself .”

Reacting to the social media post, ex-Man Utd team-mate Bruno Fernandes said: “Muy bien Kevin .”
