During his time as coach of Borussia Dortmund, the German born coach lost to fellow German side Bayern Munich in the 2012/13 Champions league final. He went on to lose again in the 2017/18 final to Real Madrid.

He had the intention of revenging Madrid this year to get his second trophy but that could not work. The lone goal came on the 59th minute through a tap in by Vinicius Junior. His opponent, Carlo Ancelotti won his record fourth title in the competition.

Klopp’s side played an improved game as compared to the 2018 final which they lost by 3-1. This time the game was tight but unfortunately Liverpool failed to convert the most chances created.

Jurgen also lost the UEFA Europa League to Sevilla in 2016 after suffering 3-1 at the final.

Nonetheless, he and his team have not gone empty handed but were able to win two trophies. The English FA Cup and the League Cup. They lost the Premier League title to Manchester City on last day.
