THE TALE OF TWO COACHES; ANCELOTTI WINS 4TH CHAMPIONS LEAGUE AS KLOPP LOSES 4TH FINAL – 1

Italian born coach Carlo Ancelotti made a remarkable history in European football after winning his fourth UEFA Champions League trophy. This is also his second trophy with the Spanish side Real Madrid.

He led his Real Madrid side to defeat English side Liverpool by a lone goal in the final of the 2021/22 UEFA Champions League. The match took place in Paris at the Stade de France on Saturday night.

The goal was scored by Vinicius Junior in the second half. Thibourt Courtois was adjudged man of the match. His heroic saves ensured Madrid won their 14th trophy in the competition.

This would also be Carlo’s fourth Champions League trophy. The 62 year old coach becomes the only coach to have won the trophy four times.

Carlo won the competition for the first time in 2003 with AC Milan and again in 2007 with same side. He also won it with Real Madrid in 2014. He lost one final in 2005 to Liverpool.

Ancelotti got his revenge against Jurgen Klopp’s side by 1-0 scoreline. Unfortunately Liverpool failed to get their revenge for the 2018 final.

He has coached most of the big clubs across Europe where he also won various league trophis. He has handled Juventus, Paris St Germain, Bayern Munich and also Chelsea.

His current spell with Madrid his his second time of handling the Spanish Champions. Carlo has achieved double feat after guiding his side to win the Spanish La Liga in the just ended season as well the UEFA Champions League.
