Sénégal confirms their reign of African Football
Senegal have confirmed their kingship of African football after winning the 2023 CHAN Cup.
The local side of the Terenga Lions beat Algeria 5-4 on penalties to win the final of the Championship of African Nations.
There was no goal after the 90 minutes of regulation time and 30 minutes of extra time at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Algiers.
They become the first West African Nation to win the CHAN tournament.
This confirms the continuous rise of football by the West African Nation from January 2022.
Just a year ago, their main National team won the 2021 AFCON trophy.
For Bench Soccer, Senegal won the 2022 African Cup.
They also claimed West African Under 17 and 20 Championships respectively in 2022.
Sénégal’s female side also won the 2022 WAFU tournament.
