President Muhammadu Buhari’s Personal Assistant on New Media, Bashir Ahmad, has reacted to Senegal’s triumph over Egypt to win the 2021 African Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Cameroon.

Ahmad in a series of tweets on his Twitter page said the Senegalese victory against the Pharaohs’ of Egypt was well deserved.

The Presidential aide, however, faulted the decision of CAF to award Senegalese and Liverpool player, Sadio Mane, the best player of the African tournament.

Ahmad believed that Cameroon’s striker and captain, Vincent Aboubakar is more deserving of the best player award than Mane.

Ahmad’s tweet read: “Congratulations to Senegal on winning the #AFCON2021. Well deserved.

“Sadio Mané awarded the best player of the tournament, how? Cameroon’s Aboubakar is by far the best player of this #AFCON2021. They should have given him his award.”
