Real Madrid young talent, Vinicius Junior has named his teammate, Karim Benzema favourite to win the next Ballon d’Or prize, Naija News reports.

It was a thrilling Tuesday night with Madrid and Manchester City tackling each other in a battle to win the ongoing UEFA Champions League campaign title.

Seven goals hit the nets at the Etihad stadium last night as Pep Guardiola’s men were on rampage against Carlo Ancelotti’s squad in the first leg of the UCL semi-finals.

Man City’s Kevin De Bruyne and Gabriel Jesus opened the scoring before Benzema pulled one back.

Phil Foden put the Premier League champions ahead again but Bernardo Silva struck after Vinicius Junior scored for Los Blancos.

A late penalty goal by Benzema made the margin a narrow one but the Spanish giants still could not equal the goals against the host.

The brace means the Benzema has now scored 14 Champions League goals this season.

When asked to comment about Karim Benzema in post-match interview, Vinicius Jr said: “He’s a great player, he’s my brother.

“Let’s hope he can end the season winning LaLiga, winning the Champions League and finish up with the Ballon d’Or.”

Meanwhile, Manchester United legend, Rio Ferdinand has advised Arsenal manager, Mikel Arteta to sign Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City.

There have been speculations that the Spaniard has the intention to bring Jesus to the Emirate after letting Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang go in January.

Arteta would have to bring in a new striker with Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah set to leave the club.

The former England defender believes Jesus would get Arsenal goals if given regular playing time at the club.

Ferdinand while speaking with Vibe with Five said, “You speak to players about him, they appreciate him because he puts a good workload in, he has got quality.

“I think if he plays consistently in a team like Arsenal, I think he gets you goals.

“By the way, [Eddie] Nketiah at the weekend [against Manchester United] I thought was brilliant. Held up the ball well, brought others into the game.”
