Pep Guardiola has spoken about extending his coaching career at English Premier League champions,  Manchester City.

Naija News recalls that Guardiola joined the English Premier League side on February 1, 2016.

The 51-year-old former player, who is now in his seventh season at the Etihad, said that he will discuss with the club about extending his stay or not.

City’s job is Guardiola’s longest stint as a manager at any club, following his previous spells at Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

The Spaniard’s contract with City will last through next summer, but Guardiola is open to signing an extension.

“In the middle of the season or the end of the season, we will talk again.

“If they want it, I would like to stay longer but at the same time I have to be sure.

“Sometimes when you force it, it’s not good, you have to relax, this will happen naturally,” Guardiola said during an interview with sports journalists ahead of the club’s 2022/23 EPL season first match against West Ham on Sunday evening.

So far, Guardiola has won four league titles for Man City, Naija News reports.
