Popular Football Super Agent, Mino Raiola Is Dead

Popular and controversial football super agent, Mino Raiola has died at the age of 54 following a brief illness.

Naija News gathered that Raiola was hospitalised for an undisclosed illness in Milan, Italy in January and underwent major surgery.

According to reports in Italy, the illness wasn’t life-threatening and Raiola was expected to begin a period of rehabilitation at home.

The Italian, however, died at an undisclosed hospital in Milam.

Raiola was the football representative to the likes of Paul Pogba, Erling Haaland, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Romelu Lukaku, Mario Balotelli, Marco Verratti, Matthijs de Ligt, Gianluiggi Donnarumma, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and many others.

It had been shaping up to be a busy summer for Raiola, with Pogba and Haaland among his clients expected to be on the move. He was known for his influential role in securing big-money moves to European giants for his clients.

It was reported that Raiola earned as much as £20million from the world record £89m sale of Pogba from Juventus to Manchester United in 2016.

He has overseen numerous Ibrahimovic transfers around Europe, as well as Balotelli’s move from Inter Milan to Man City in 2010 and his subsequent switch to AC Milan.

According to reports, Raiola was negotiating Haaland’s potential move away from Borussia Dortmund this summer, with Manchester City thought to be the frontrunners.

The agent was also liaising with Pogba over his impending move away from Manchester United this summer. Raiola helped to orchestrate the Frenchman’s £89m move from Juventus in 2016 – a world record fee at the time.
