Newcastle transfer news: Bookies rank FOURTEEN most likely signings this summer with Champions League football secured

NEWCASTLE are expected to make a splash in the summer transfer market with Champions League football secured for next season.

Bookmakers Betfair have revealed their FOURTEEN most likely incomings, and ranked who is favourite to join Eddie Howe in Tyneside next season.

The Magpies’ draw with Leicester in their penultimate game of the season ensured top four was guaranteed, and reports suggest Howe will be handed a sizeable war chest to help his side compete in the Champions League.

SunSport understand the club’s owners will make upwards of £150million available for recruitment, which will be needed if the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea return to form in the 2023-24 campaign.

Kieran Tierney – 4/7

Betfair believe Arsenal full-back Kieran Tierney is the most likely addition to Howe’s squad at 4/7.

Dan Burn has impressed at left-back, but is a better option centrally, and £30million-rated Tierney wants more minutes having started just a handful of league matches for the Gunners.

James Maddison – Evens

Potentially a huge a coup and Newcastle are even money to get it over the line before the transfer window closes in September.

Maddison is viewed as a priority target, and his signature is considered achievable given he’s only got a year left on his Leicester deal.

The Foxes value him at around £50m and would reportedly be open to selling this summer to avoid losing him on a free transfer in 2024 – which probably more depends on their own league status with relegation looming.

Scott McTominay – 7/4

Eddie Howe wants a defensive midfielder and Manchester United’s Scott McTominay could fit the bill.

Newcastle have reportedly been told to stump up £50million if they wish to sign McTominay, who’s struggled to nail down a regular spot under Erik ten Hag.

Youri Tielemans – 15/8

Similar to Maddison in the fact he’ll have options, particularly with Leicester on the brink of relegation.

But he’s actually available on a free now and will likely have a catalogue of offers from round Europe.

James Ward-Prowse – 11/4

There’s no shortage of interest in Southampton’s set-piece specialist, who has been told he’ll be allowed to leave with Saints relegated.

His versatility could make him particularly appealing, and Newcastle could have a real advantage after reports last month claimed that none of the ‘big six’ are showing interest.

Conor Gallagher – 3/1

Chelsea need to sell, and Conor Gallagher has no shortage of admirers.

The midfielder earned plaudits for his loan campaign but has struggled since his return to Stamford Bridge.

It’s unclear whether or not Mauricio Pochettino (if he’s appointed) has plans for the 23-year-old, but current reports suggest he’s valued at £40m.

Harvey Barnes – 5/1

The third of the Leicester trio who will also move on should they go down.

Has had a great season for the Foxes and been a rare shining light in a torrid campaign.

Alan Saint-Maximin’s future being up in the air could pave the way for Barnes.

Cristiano Ronaldo – 11/2

Ronaldo was somewhat linked with Newcastle before he quit Man Utd for Saudi and those links look set to increase over the summer.

Has admitted in the past he’d like another crack at the Champions League, with Newcastle could offer.

Reports he’s also looking to quit his current club, which will only heighten speculation.

Raphinha – 6/1

Reportedly desperate to stay at Barcelona but that option could be taken away from him with the club needing to sell.

Particularly if they want to bring Lionel Messi back.

Showed he can do it in the Premier League and coming into his peak years. Brazilian contingent at Newcastle could also help.

Moises Caicedo – 13/2

Set to dominate transfer headlines over summer after stellar Brighton campaign.

Arsenal and Chelsea seemingly in a tussle over him which will only inflate price.

Can play several positions which is major advantage of signing him. One that could rumble on.

Quit Liverpool for Bayern last season and it’s been a disaster.

Eager to stick it out in Germany to kickstart career but rumblings behind the scenes suggest exit on the cards.

Declan Rice – 10/1

Would be a serious show of intent, given the huge transfer fee supposedly being considered.

Is expected to quit West Ham this summer with several top six clubs set to do battle for the £100million England man.

Harry Maguire – 10/1

Desperately needs a fresh start away from Manchester United and Newcastle could offer that.

Ten Hag already exploring centre back options so Maguire’s exit likely and move away to Champions League could entice.

Newcastle’s defence has had a solid year so will take a big player to knock them out the starting spots.

Neymar – 16/1

Reportedly being offered to clubs as PSG career draws to a close.

No doubt the pull he has and would be a major coup heading into a huge campaign next year.

Wouldn’t appear to be one that Eddie Howe would want, though and perhaps fanciful to suggest he’d even be linked.
