Diallo, 20, was able to help the club qualify for the playoffs to the Premier League after a fine season.

The winger netted 14 goals and assisted four more in his 42 appearances for the club.

However, he was unable to help the club to the playoff final after suffering defeat to Luton Town.

After the loss the Ivorian sent a heartwarming message to the club’s supporters, saying “one day we will meet again.”

The touching words were accompanied by a collage of pictures from his time as a Sunderland player.

And the new fans he has collected have wished him the best going forward as he returns to Man United.

One fan asked for him to “remember” them when he “wins the Champions League” on Twitter.

He has made three Premier League appearances for the Red Devils as well as having a shot loan spell with Rangers in which he scored three goals in ten SPL games.

Diallo will have the summer to prove he is worthy of a spot in Erik ten Hag‘s first-team squad ahead of next season or face another loan move away from the club.
