Man Utd icon John O’Shea stars in hilarious ‘Nutmeg’ ad for Uber Eats as fans call it ‘best thing you’ll ever watch’
JOHN O’SHEA and Shay Given teamed up with Just Eat to create a hilarious parody celebrating the defender’s famous nutmeg on Luis Figo.
20 years ago this week, starting at left-back for Manchester United, the Waterford man faced a terrifying Real Madrid attack, which featured Brazil legend Ronaldo.

In what was one of the most unmissable games of the season, a rare moment of magic from O’Shea is still being talked about today.
Collecting the ball on the left-wing from a diagonal Paul Scholes pass, the defender took the ball down on his chest, before proceeding to slip it through the legs of Ballon D’Or winner Luis Figo.
And two decades on from that legendary moment, the now 42-year-old has teamed up with Just Eat, to make a parody documentary about ‘The Nutmeg’.
O’Shea said: “I’m not saying he [Luis Figo] wasn’t a threat, I respected his game.
“I looked across the tunnel, could have been a look of respect, no look back – alright, that’s how it’s going to be. That’s all I needed.
“I was ready to kill. I took that personally.”
It goes without saying that O’Shea’s words were just jokes, but this was made clear with his laughter and comments at the end of the video.
He joked: “No look, we’re too far.
“It was three and a half seconds of my life, get over it will you, please! What a script though!”
Football fans on Twitter showed a great reaction to the video.
One user wrote: “Now that’s how you do entertaining branded content. Well done to everyone involved in this.”
Another commented: “This is amazing. What makes it even funnier, is he was properly a good player haha.”
Irish cult comedy hero Owen Colgan featured as well in the video, as did newscaster Eileen Dunne.
The match in question ended 4-3 to Man United but Real Madrid won 6-5 on aggregate to progress to the semi-finals.
