MANCHESTER UNITED fans all said the same thing after Wout Weghorst bagged his first goal for the club.

The Netherlands international opened his account for the club in the first leg of United’s Carabao Cup semi-final tie with Nottingham Forest on Wednesday night.

Weghorst – who is on loan at the Theatre of Dreams from Burnley – doubled United’s lead with a perfectly-placed rebound before the stroke of half-time.

And his finish quickly became the talk of the Old Trafford faithful.

One tweeted: “I believed in this guy since first day at Old Ttrafford.”

United manager Erik ten Hag splashed out £2.5million to cut short his countryman’s loan stint with Besiktas and secure his services until the end of the season.

After his Old Trafford arrival, Weghorst said: “I feel privileged to be joining Manchester United.

“I’ve played against the club in the past and it’s a fantastic feeling to now have the chance to pull on the famous red shirt.
