Kumasi Asante Kotoko had a perfect night of football after walloping Bibiani Goldstars 5-0 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors came to light under the floodlights after going winless in their last two games.

Kotoko lost painfully in a 2-1 score line against Hearts of Oak in the 2022 President’s Cup on Friday, March 4, 2022. They later drew goalless with Bechem United on Tuesday, March 8.

They gave their fans a resounding victory today after putting five goals past the Miners. Two in the first half and three in the second half.

Cameroun import, George Mfegue scored twice in the first half to ease off the earlier challenge posed by the Miners. Both goals were scored in a similar fashion as through a counter attack.

The second half saw Kotoko been pinned at their own half after Mfegue was substituted due to a knock. Augustine Agyapong scored the third goal after Kotoko had made a quick transition from defence into attack and that was enough to break the resilience from Bibiani Goldstars.

The fourth goal was scored by Franck Mbella Etouga from the spot after almost 80 minutes of play. Ernest Kusi in post for Bibiani Goldstars committed a blunder that led to the fifth goals been scored by Samuel Boateng.

Coach Dr. Prosper Ogum of Kotoko was full of joy after the game and commended his side for the great victory.

Kotoko now move to 44 points to maintain their lead on top of the league table.
