‘It’s not good at all’ – Novak Djokovic leaves fans fearing worst over Australian Open injury ahead of Dimitrov clash

NOVAK DJOKOVIC gave his fans a scare as he hobbled into the third round of the Australian Open.

The Serbian sensation was visibly struggling with injury in his second round win over Enzo Couacaud, and was taken to four sets by the 191-ranked Frenchman.

Djokovic will face a tougher test against Grigor Dimitrov in the next round on Saturday, and admitted he is concerned about his fitness.

He said: “To be honest it’s not good at all. Look, I take it day to day. The feeling was better last mach than tonight.

“It’s up to God to help me, and physio. I hope I can recover for the next match against a tough opponent.”

The world number five had to deal with more than his injury during his clash with Couacaud as he fought to get distracting fans evicted from the court.

A group of rowdy fans dressed as ‘Where’s Wally’ were all evicted after Djokovic complained to the umpire, saying they were “drunk”.

He could be heard saying: “The guy’s drunk out of his mind. From the first point he’s been provoking. He just wants to get in my head.

“So I’m asking you, what are you going to do about it?

“You heard him at least ten times, I heard him 50 times. What are you going to do?

“Why don’t you get security to get him out of the stadium?”

No player has more Australian Open titles than Djokovic, who has been victorious nine times in Melbourne.

And with Rafael Nadal already out of this year’s edition, he will fancy his chances of number 10 should his body hold up.
