Ghanaian midfielder Elvis Sakyi starred for Israeli side Maccabi Petah Tikva as they secured a late winner in their 2-1 victory over third place Ashdod.Sakyi was solid in midfielder winning and distributing passes effortlessly as the home-side grabbed all three points at the HaMoshava Stadium.The visitors took a 16th minute lead through forward Sagiv Yehezkel.But Petah Tikva replies immediately through Armando Cooper from the spot.Both sides went into the break with the scoreline at 1-1 but an improved performance from the host saw them grab a late winner in the second half.Teenager Liel Abada netted the winner in injury time to take Meaccabi Petah Tikva to third place on the table.Elvis Sakyi was making his 14th appearance of the season, having been an instrumental cog in the Petah Tikva wheel.
