Ghana football loses a jem as Alhaji Jawula goes home
Ghana football has been hard hit as the unfortunate departure of former President of Ghana Football Association.
Alhaji Mohammed Nuru Deen Jawula has passed away in the United States of America as officially confirmed. He died on Saturday morning in Nashville while on a visit to his children.
He has served the football industry in various capacities, starting with Real Tamale United. Alhaji Jawula succeeded his boss Nana Sam Brew Butler in 1997 as the Executive Chairman of the GFA.
Before been voted for as the Chairman of the Ghana Football Association, Alhaji was the General Secretary of the Association from 1993 to 1997.
He also served as the Chairman of the National Under 17 team, Black Starlets during his tenure at the GFA.
Until his passing, Alhaji was the Chairman of the Pro.fessional League Board of Ghana Football. He also served the Confederation of African Football (CAF) as a member of its Inter Clubs Competition Committee.
The former Statesman was the chief of Lepo Kpembe of the Kujolobti Gate in Northern Region of Ghana.
The much-admired gentleman would be buried today in Nashville today. A burial prayer has been held at his house in Accra on Sunday evening.
