FROM a naked photoshoot that shocked the sport to earning millions and starring in a TV show – Chantal Sutherland is unlike any other jockey around.
A model-turned-rider who was named in the ‘world’s 100 most beautiful people’, she continues to break down barriers wherever she goes.

A big one will come next month, when she races against Frankie Dettori in Saudi Arabia.
They will both compete in the £1.4million International Jockeys Challenge – the undercard to the £16.2m Saudi Cup, the world’s richest race.
Big cheques are something Chantal is used to.
From her rides in America alone she has made £47.5m throughout her career.
As a jockey she can expect to pocket around ten per cent of that – even so that equates to earnings in the millions.
Yet for all her winners on the track, her antics off it have done just as much to boost her profile.

With jaw-dropping looks she’s been an undeniable hit in front of camera.
She was named in People magazine’s ‘100 most beautiful people in the world’ in 2008.
She featured in a glitzy Sports Illustrated feature and even made headlines when competing against her ex-fiance in a 1-vs-1 grudge race.
But it was her ‘Lady Godiva moment’ in Vanity Fair magazine in 2012 that really set the bar.
Doing something not seen before or since, she posed naked atop a horse in a shoot orchestrated by American actress Bo Derek.
The daring shoot sent Chantal’s profile into the stratosphere.
Soon came the appearances on legendary US chat show Conan O’Brien and a starring role on HBO series Luck.
Companies clambered over themselves to sign her up to anything and everything.
One even put her a QR code on her bum.
Then, just as quickly as it arrived, it disappeared.
Big favourite Game On Dude – already a Grade 1 winner for Chantal – lost the 2012 Pacific Classic at Del Mar by half-a-length.
Chantal was in the saddle. The horse was not supposed to lose – he couldn’t lose.
Reflecting on the loss, she said: “I was the ‘It Girl’ and then just like that, I wasn’t.
“I went to a pretty dark place. I got depressed. I chose to step away from horse racing.
“I should have stayed and tried to overcome the obstacles, but I didn’t handle it very well.”
She retired from racing aged 36 in October 2012.
Half-hearted comebacks in 2013 and 2014 amounted to little and in 2015 she didn’t race at all.
Divorced by 2016, she got the bug again and returned to racing full time.
Chantal is arguably riding better than ever at the age of 46
Like every jockey the broken bones and near misses have totted up since then – but so have the calls from owners desperate to get her on their horses.
In total she’s banged in more than 1,200 career winners.
And some of the best – at the age of 46 – could be yet to come.
Her horses have already won more than £70,000 so far this year from racing at Florida’s Gulfstream Park.
But speaking about the chance to take on Frankie in the Middle East, she said: “I’ve had a really good year in Florida so far and I can’t wait to head over.
“To ride against the likes of Frankie is a real honour.
“I know him well and have ridden against him plenty of times – he’s a lot of fun and the crowds always love him.
“Anyone of us could win it, but I’m going to give it my all – I’d love to come out on top.”
