Former Asante Kotoko patron Assad Mallah laid to rest

Late Assad MallahDeceased former Asante Kotoko patron Assad Mallah has been laid to rest.The mortal remains of the former popular football administrator was interred at the Osu Cemetary in Accra on Wednesday December 30.Mallah, who is a Lebanese, is one of the three grea naturalised expats who loved and contributed immensely to the Porcupine Warriors.The other two I. J. Mourhkarzel and Naja David of Bondplex fame, who lived in Kumasi, offered massive financial support to the Ghanaian giants.In attendance at the burial ceremony were veteran sports journalists Ken Bediako and Joe Aggrey who both had a close working relationship with Mr Mallah.Funeral arrangement for the late Assad, who was a patron of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana, will be announced in due course.Mallah, however, cut his teeth in Accra where he mobilised the Greater Accra supporters group as a powerful force that specialised in organising massive support for the club, including hiring buses to the various league centres to fill the stands in matches involving Kotoko.
