Football club forced to dig HOLE on pitch in order to comply with little-known rule after opponents make complaint

A FOOTBALL club in Romania was forced to dig holes on the pitch after a complaint was made over a little-known rule.

ASC Otelul Galati had to take tools to the grass around the goalposts after a complaint about the size of the goals.

Sepsi manager Bernd Storck believed that the goals were too small and that the crossbar was not at the required height during the SuperLiga clash.

The German’s observation turned out to be correct after the distance between the bar and the ground was measured.

To fix the issue, the staff at Otelul were forced to dig holes around the posts in order to correct the height.

Footage of the quick work has emerged on social media of the staff trying to fix the goal.

One man can be seen holding a measuring tape to make sure the distance is correct.

The referee was making sure everything was being done right.

Fans loved seeing chaotic moment as the reacted on social media.

One posted: “The Romanian league is unbeaten.”

A second wrote: “This is absolutely amazing. Best thing ever.”

A fourth said: “Once again I am telling you this league is the best in the world.”

Another added: “Nothing beats Romanian football for crazy stories.”

Despite the change to the goal size, it did not seem to help Storck’s side.

Alexandru Mihai Constantin Pop fired a first-half brace to put the second-placed side into a commanding lead.

The hosts were able to see out the lead and take all three points in the match.
