Female jockey ‘speared’ into turf during horrific fall in ‘serious’ condition in hospital
A TOP female jockey who was ‘speared’ into the ground during a horrific fall remains in ‘serious’ condition in hospital.
Jamie Kah was one of two jockeys rushed to hospital after a sickening pile-up in Melbourne, Australia, on Saturday.

Kah, 27, smashed into the turf and her horse caused Craig Williams’ mount to go down too.
Both horses thankfully got to their feet but the jockeys remained motionless on the ground as emergency workers rushed in.
Harrowing footage showed Kah receiving oxygen as she was placed on an stretcher and carried into the back of an ambulance.
She is said to be in a ‘serious’ condition in Royal Melbourne Hospital, while Williams is conscious and talking after his fall.
Kah’s boyfriend Ben Melham rushed to her bedside after winning the next race.
He said immediately afterwards: “It’s a reminder of how dangerous this job can be.
“Right now winners are not important, as long as everyone is OK.”
According to Racenet, Kah remains under sedation ‘to keep her comfortable’ after suffering a ‘severe’ concussion.
She was cleared of any structural or brain injury, reports say.
A photo of Williams posted from his hospital bed showed wires all over him as he just about mustered a thumbs-up.
The jockey suffered a broken clavicle, two smashed ribs and a damaged finger.
He said: “Every message I get in support of my situation is also a prayer and thought to Jamie.
“It is a dangerous sport and occupation and unfortunately these things do happen, but luckily we’ve got support and the right people around.
“Every jockey, as much as we’re so competitive on the race track you can see the love and affection for their fellow riders.”
Recalling the horror smash, he added: “I saw a flash to my inside in front and next minute I saw the incident as I was going past, I thought ‘oh feels like I’ve gone past it’ and then tripped my horse’s legs up.
“I remember descending fast into the turf.”
