Chelsea coach, Thomas Tuchel has expressed disappointment by the club’s move to sell Antonio Rudiger.
Naija News understands that the German centre-back has been included in the list of players the Blues’ director Marina Granovskaia is ready to sell soon.
Rudiger had an outstanding performance last season playing for the Blues and has emerged as one of Tuchel’s most trusted stars since January.
The 28-year-old playing along with Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen – have saved Chelsea in many matches since Tuchel’s take over.
All the three players mentioned above are, however, out of contract next summer. But while Azpilicueta and Christensen are expected to soon commit to new deals, there is less certainty over Rudiger.
Rudiger is attracting interest from Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Juventus.
Should the German player refused to agree to a new deal with Chelsea by June 2022, he will leave the club as a free agent, a situation Chelsea do not want.
Meanwhile, there are reports already circulating at Stamford Bridge that Rudiger is unwilling to extend his contract. And if there is no resolution by January 1, Granovskaia will put Rudiger up for sale.
