EPL: Top Arsenal Player Injured Ahead Of Brentford Clash

Mikel Arteta’s squad has been reduced by one ahead of Arsenal’s English Premier League clash with Brentford this weekend, Naija News reports.

The North London club would be hosted at the Gtech Community Stadium on Sunday to battle for three points.

However, while Arsenal hope to return to winning ways, the squad would be reduced by a player as Oleksandr Zinchenko reportedly picked up a knock during their midweek training.

Reports emerging from the Emirates noted that Zinchenko would be out for at least two weeks.

Naija News understands that following his return to Arsenal, Zinchenko has been plagued with a knee injury that made him miss games against Fulham and Aston Villa.

Subsequently, the player returned to Arteta’s starting line-up earlier this month in a 3-1 defeat to Manchester United and as well as coming off the bench in their Europa League game against FC Zurich last week.

Zinchenko has now sustained a different injury, this time to his calf, forcing him to withdraw from selection for Ukraine’s upcoming international matches.

“Oleksandr Zinchenko will not be able to help the blue and yellow during the September matches in the UEFA Nations League.

“The Arsenal player suffered a calf muscle injury during training at the club which will require two weeks for treatment and recovery,” Ukrainian FA confirmed Zinchenko’s status on Friday.
