EPL: Rooney Reveals Why Alex Ferguson Dumped Manchester United

Ferguson had left Old Trafford in 2013 after spending 27 years with the English Premier League club. He left a title-winning team for his successor, David Moyes.
Rooney on the other hand had asked Manchester United to let him join another club, questioning the club’s future.
The former England striker then fell out with Ferguson again during the Scot’s final year at Old Trafford, when he once again asked to depart.
Naija News understands that Rooney is still United’s all-time highest scorer having scored 253 goals for the club in 559 appearances.
The former player had sometimes ago expressed sadness that United allowed Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez to leave the club in 2009.
“Actually, if you look five years down the line from that meeting – Alex Ferguson knew where the club was going and he got out of there as quickly as he could, and they’re still picking up the pieces now,” Rooney was quoted as saying by Metro.
In another news, world Football governing body, FIFA has cleared Leicester City winger Ademola Lookman to switch his allegiance from England to Nigeria.
The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) President, Amaju Pinnick, confirmed the development in a tweet via his Twitter handle on Thursday.
Naija News reports that Lookman, who had earlier indicated his interest to represent Nigeria, was part of England’s title win at the 2017 Under-20 World Cup.
The 24-year-old, who was born to Nigerian parents, has not played for England’s senior team and might make his debut for the Super Eagles of Nigeria very soon. Lookman was born in Peckham, London and is on loan at Leicester from RB Leipzig.
