EPL: ‘Do Not Sign Him’ – Glen Johnson Warns Man United Against Signing Chelsea Striker

English former footballer player, Glen Johnson has warned Manchester United against signing Chelsea forward, Timo Werner.

The former Liverpool player believe Werner would not enjoy playing time with the Red Devils if he eventually agrees to term with the club.

Johnson insisted that Man United should forget about signing Werner, adding that his move to Old Trafford would be problematic for the player and the club itself.

Naija News understands that Man United have been linked with a shock move for Werner since Ralf Rangnick replaced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as manager about a week ago.

Werner is just picking up at Chelsea after enduring a turbulent spell following his move to the club from RB Leipzig in 2020.

Speaking on the player’s place at United, Johnson said: “I don’t think that is a good move for either party [Man Utd and Timo Werner”.

“I don’t think it’s a good move for Manchester United and I don’t think it’s a good move for Timo Werner.

United seem to want to sign any player available in that position which is just madness.

“For me, they signed Jadon Sancho for a position they didn’t need and they’ve got [Cristiano] Ronaldo, [Mason] Greenwood and [Edinson] Cavani. They clearly can’t play all these players and keep them all happy.

For Timo Werner to thrive, then he has to be playing somewhere where he plays every week and at Manchester United, he’s not going to do that,” the 37- year-old added.
