Conor McGregor responds to Francis Ngannou after heavyweight’s shock UFC exit following contract standoff
CONOR MCGREGOR has reacted to the departure of Francis Ngannou – and given him a spot of advice.
The UFC’s heavyweight champion officially left the promotion last week as a free agent after failed talks over a new deal.

Ngannou was offered a bumper new deal but didn’t want to be tied into a contract in which the promotion didn’t meet any of his other demands – one of which was for fighters to be able to have in-cage sponsors.
It didn’t take long for UFC poster boy McGregor to get wind of Ngannou’s airing of his grievances with the ill-fated re-negotiation, which he responded to by telling him to invest in a good management team.
Taking to his Instagram story, McGregor shared a post of Ngannou’s comments with the caption: “Correct representation is imperative.
“Seek @paradigmsports.”
Ngannou’s departure was officially announced by UFC president Dana White in a press conference last weekend, in which he confirmed Jon Jones will face Ciryl Gane for the vacant title in March.
White claimed the Cameroonian rejected an offer that would’ve made him the “highest-paid” heavyweight in the company’s history and wanted to fight lesser opponents for more money.
Both notions irked Ngannou, who said during an appearance on The MMA Hour: “I watched part of it and at some point, I stopped watching. I was like, ‘Bulls***.’
“Dana is Dana. I don’t care what he said. Dana cannot hurt me.

“Saying things cannot hurt me. Where I come from I’ve heard a lot.
“What he said, it’s his problem.
“What I know is I’m here and I have a good future.
“I think what he was expressing was his frustration.
“It doesn’t matter what he said.

“He’s upset. He’s not happy with the situation.
“He saw his champion go away, which has probably never happened to him.”
Ngannou has been contacted by multiple MMA and boxing promoters since his departure from the UFC.
Former two-division champ McGregor, meanwhile, is preparing to make his long-awaited return to the octagon.
The Irishman is seemingly on course for a summer comeback bout, although he could seek an exemption to USADA’s six-month testing pool requirement to make a sooner-than-expected return.
