Burnley owner Alan Pace reveals TWO managers Clarets spoke to before hiring Vincent Kompany to replace Dyche

BURNLEY owner Alan Pace has raised eyebrows by revealing that TWO bosses were interviewed before Vincent Kompany.

And their identities were kept secret in Sky’s Mission to Burnley docuseries  — as both men were in work at the time.

Burnley eventually opted for Man City legend Vincent KompanyRex

Pace sacked Sean Dyche in April 2022 and revealed he had spoken to the candidates, along with current chief Kompany.

Both names are bleeped out —  but insiders know their identities.

Pace must be content he went with Manchester City legend Kompany.

Burnley romped back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

Kompany’s men won the Championship by 10 points from Sheffield United.

But one game and two weeks into the Prem season, he is keen to keep boosting his squad before the transfer window shuts on September 1.

The Clarets slumped 3-0 at home to champs Man City in the season opener on August 11.

And Kompany wants reinforcements all round.

A £12miilion deal for Aston Villa midfielder Aaron Ramsey, 20, is still possible.

But Villa want a complicated buy-back arrangement.
