Deputy coach of Ashantigold, Thomas Duah has revealed that the club’s main ambition is to win the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League. The Miners are having a decent campaign and currently lie fifth on the table, with just four points between them and leaders Karela United. On Sunday, the Obuasi-based club held rivals Asante Kotoko to a goalless draw on matchday 11 of the campaign.”It’s our target to win the league in order to add our names to the list of individuals who have achieved that feat with the club,” he told Hello FM.”This year’s league has been fantastic and the media too have done well hyping it. Teams have been winning away matches which was not common in our league.”Now because some of the matches are live on TV it is difficult for clubs to cheat or try to gain advantage,” he added. The second transfer window in Ghana has been opened and the assistant coach is hoping the ‘aboakese’ lads can strengthen their squad with new signings.”We are talking with the President to augment the squad during the second transfer window. We encountered some problems but we’ll talk about it before the commencement of the second round,” said Thomas Duah.
