Andre Ayew’s contract with Swansea City expires in June

Swansea City star Andre Ayew is nearing his contract expiration in the summer and could leave as a free agent. The 31-year old was re-signed by Swansea in 2018 from West Ham for a club-record fee of 18m.Ayew signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the Welsh club which expires at the end of the season. The Ghana international has been one of the key players for the side since his return from Turkish side Fenerbache. He was the leading top scorer for his side last season, guiding the team to the promotion play-offs which they missed out in the semi-finals.The attacker is likely to move out of the club to search for opportunities elsewhere should Steve Cooper’s side fail to secure promotion to Premier League next season.Sources indicate that Swansea City is ready to table a new offer for their star but talks are on hold until the end of the season.”We will see. When you start thinking about that, it takes away some of your focus, and I don’t want that,” Ayew told FourFourTwo on his contract renegotiation.”It could get to a point where that questiion will come – ‘Are you staying or going?’ – but right now I’m happy here.He has made 38 appearances this season for the club scoring 14 goals.
