‘He cost Man Utd victory’ – Piers Morgan again blasts Casemiro as he trolls Rio Ferdinand after star banned for Arsenal

PIERS MORGAN trolled Rio Ferdinand by saying that Casemiro cost Manchester United victory against Crystal Palace.

The Red Devils were on course for a tenth win on the bounce at Selhurst Park when Bruno Fernandes fired them ahead just before the break.

But things turned sour for United late on.

Firstly, Casemiro picked up his fifth booking of the season after bringing down Wilfried Zaha, which rules him out of Sunday’s trip to Arsenal.

And Erik ten Hag’s side then suffered a second late blow when Michael Olise’ last-gasp free-kick rescued a point.

Piers took to Twitter in response to Palace’s goal and tagged Ferdinand in a tweet.

The pair have been arguing this week about who’s better between the Casemiro and Thomas Partey ahead of the clash at the Emirates.

Ferdinand said: “In terms of who’s more important to their team, you can argue for both sides.

“But when you throw the stats in, Casemiro wipes the floor with him.

“I don’t think Partey is good enough defensively to do what Casemiro is doing. I don’t think he has the impact to do defensively what Casemiro is doing for Man United.”

Piers responded on Twitter: “Hi @rioferdy5 if you genuinely think Partey isn’t as good as Casemiro then you’re in for a nasty shock on Sunday when he bullies your guy into submission and I get this trending again… #Tears4Rio”

And the SunSport columnist once again hit out at the ex-United defender moments after the full-time whistle.

He said: “So, Casemiro got himself suspended for Sunday’s big match against Arsenal, and then missed an absolute sitter at the end to cost Utd victory. Better than Partey? Methinks not.. cc @rioferdy5.”

It was a poor night all round for United, who dropped two crucial points in their pursuit of Arsenal at the top.

And they’ll now be without one of their most in-form players for the trip to North London.
