MedeamaAbass Mohammed scored a last gap penalty to hand Medeama a 1-1 draw at home to Asante Kotoko in an outstanding league match on Sunday. It was a game of two halves as both teams dominated in either side of 90 minutes at the Akoon Park in Tarkwa. The Mauve and Yellows appear to have lost steam since the start of the season in the absence of clinical goal poacher Prince Opoku Agyemang who has been loaned to PSL side Cape Town City FC.The home side huffed and puffed in the second half in particular as the Porcupine Warriors enjoyed the chunk of possession.Kwame Poku opened the scoring for the visitors with a well worked goal connecting beautifully from an incisive pass from captain Emmanuel Gyamfi on 72 minutes. The opening game gave the visitors the needed confidence as they dictated from the heart of the park.Medeama will rue their chances after Kwadwo Asamoah squandered the best chance before the opener with only goalkeeper Razak Abalora at his mercy.Medeama coach Samuel Boadu left out midfielder Justice Justice Blay in the team.He handed start to Richard Boadu who partnered Rashid Nortey, ERIC Kwakwa and Kwasi Donsu at the heart of the park. They dominated the midfield and overshadowed Asante Kotoko duo Latif Anabila and Emmanuel Sarkodie. But all the possession did not reflect on the scoreboard before the half time whistle.Medeama are yet to win at home this season in what has been a chequered start so far.
